This document specifies requirements and gives recommendations on the management of integrity of a pipeline system throughout its life cycle, which includes design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance and abandonment. This document is applicable to offshore pipelines for transporting petroleum and natural gas. It is applicable to rigid steel pipelines. It is not applicable to flexible pipelines, dynamic risers or those constructed from other materials, such as glass-reinforced plastics. NOTE 1 An offshore pipeline system extends to: — the first valve, flange or connection above water on platform or subsea mechanical connector with subsea structure (i.e. manifold or dynamic riser); — the connection point to the offshore installation (i.e. piping manifolds are not included); — the first valve, flange, connection or isolation joint at a landfall, unless otherwise specified by the onshore legislation. NOTE 2 The components mentioned above (valve, flange, connection, isolation joint) include also any pup pieces, i.e. the offshore pipeline system extends to the weld beyond the pup piece, see Figure 1. This document is used for integrity management, which is initiated at the design and construction stage of the pipeline. Where requirements of a design and construction standard (e.g. ISO 13623) are different, the provisions of this document will enhance the design and construction from an integrity perspective.

1.1 This document specifies requirements and gives recommendations on the management of integrity of a pipeline system throughout its life cycle which includes design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance and abandonment. 1.2 This document is applicable to onshore pipeline systems used in transportation in the petroleum and natural gas industries, connecting wells, production plants, process plants, refineries and storage facilities, including any section of a pipeline constructed within the boundaries of such facilities for connection purposes. The extent of pipeline systems covered by this document is illustrated in Figure 1. This document does not deal specifically with the integrity of non-pipe elements. The pipeline segment between the wellsite and the gathering station, treatment plant or process plant (between Facilities 1 and 2 in Figure 1) is included in this document, though many mandatory elements of this document are not practical due to characteristics such as diameter, operating parameters, etc. 1.3 This document applies to rigid, steel pipelines. It is not applicable for flexible pipelines or those constructed from other materials, such as glass-reinforced plastics. 1.4 This document does not cover all conditions nor engineers' competency which might be related to pipeline integrity. The user can evaluate whether additional requirements are necessary. 1.5 This document is used for integrity management, which is initiated at the design and construction stage of the pipeline. Where requirements of a design and construction standard (e.g. ISO 13623) are different, the provisions of this document will enhance the design and construction from an integrity perspective.

1.1 This practice covers information for the storage and use of LPG samples in standard cylinders of the type used in sampling method, Practice D1265 and floating piston cylinders used in sampling method, Practice D3700. 1.2 This practice is especially applicable when the LPG sample is used as a quality control (QC) reference material for LPG test methods, such as gas chromatography (GC) analysis (Test Method D2163) or vapor pressure (Test Method D6897) that use only a few mL per test, since relatively small portable Department of Transportation (DOT) cylinders (for example, 20 lb common barbecue cylinders, or common Mower/Forklift cylinders) can be used. 1.2.1 Modification of the pressure relief (QCC1) valve on single access port cylinders may prohibit the collection or transport of cylinders outside of permitted facilities such as refineries, gas plants or pipeline stations. No modification is generally required for multi-port mower/forklift cylinders that have a separate access port for pressure relief and additional access ports for filling, liquid/vapor withdrawal or liquid level indication. Consult the Authority having Jurisdiction for detailed regional regulatory requirements for transport of LPG in pressurized cylinders. 1.3 This practice can be applied to other test methods. However, test methods that require a large amount of sample per test (for example, manual vapor pressure Test Method D1267) will require QC volumes in excess of 1000 L if stored in standard DOT cylinders or American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) vessels. 1.3.1 Test methods for trace materials that may be sensitive to vessel surfaces (for example H2O, H2S/sulfur, or trace residues) could preferably use aluminum, stainless steel or internally coated vessels to minimize surface absorption/ reaction or larger vessels to minimize surface/volume ratio. 1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This guide covers fencing and lighting only. More sophisticated security systems may be appropriate for the facility but discussion of these types of systems is beyond the scope of this document. 1.2 The information included in this guide is intended for petroleum bulk storage facilities. It is not intended for use with retail fueling and other motor fueling facilities, refineries, chemical plants, docks, oil production facilities, or electric power generation, transmission, distribution and service center facilities. Fencing, lighting or other security measures designed to prevent unauthorized access to the bulk storage facility may be components of Best Management Practices (BMPs) that the facility uses to prevent releases of petroleum to storm water discharges. There are several different types of fencing and lighting that can be effective. The intent of this document is to outline a method for providing security fencing and lighting that has been effectively used. There are other fencing and lighting methods that may be adequately effective. Some facilities may be considered adequately secure without fencing or lighting. An analysis of the threat level should be made to determine the type of security system to employ. 1.3 Any facilities must meet local, state, and federal building, architectural, hazardous material handling and storage, and fire protection codes. 1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee. 1 This test method is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee E50 on Environmental Assessment, Risk Management and Corrective Action and is the direct responsibility of Subcommittee E50.01 on Storage Tanks. This document specifies the characteristics of valves made from unplasticized polyamide (PA-U) in accordance with ISO 16486-1, intended to be buried and used for the supply of gaseous fuels. It is applicable to isolating unidirectional and bi-directional valves with spigot ends or electrofusion sockets intended to be fused with PA-U pipes or fittings conforming to ISO 16486-2 and ISO 16486-3 respectively. Valves made from material other than unplasticized polyamide designed for the supply of gaseous fuels conforming to the relevant standards are permitted to be used in PA-U piping systems according to the ISO 16486 series provided they have relevant PA-U connections for butt fusion or electrofusion ends (see ISO 16486-3). The component, i.e. the complete valve, is required to fulfil the requirements of this document. This document also specifies the test parameters for the test methods it describes. In conjunction with ISO 16486-1, ISO 16486-2, ISO 16486-3 and ISO 16486-5, this document is applicable to PA-U valves and their joints and to joints with components of PA-U and other materials intended to be used under the following conditions: a) a maximum operating pressure (MOP) of up to and including 18 bar[1], or limited to 16 bar under regional CEN requirements, at a reference temperature of 20 °C for design purposes; NOTE 1 For the purpose of this document and the references to ISO 8233, MOP is considered to be nominal pressure. b) an operating temperature of −20 °C to 40 °C; NOTE 2 For operating temperatures between 20 °C and 40 °C, derating coefficients are specified in ISO 16486-5. This document covers valves for pipes with a nominal outside diameter, dn, ≤ 400 mm. [1] 1 bar = 0,1 MPa = 105 Pa; 1 MPa = 1 N/mm².
